- Marie D, 1/06: About Open Source Technology Cluster:
- I attended the December meeting of this group at Open Source Development Lab, representing Meyer Memorial Trust. There were about 40 people present, a very high power group.
- There are many exciting things happening around Open Source in Oregon, and this issue is said to be high on the Governor's list. There was a lot of discussion about how public (government) and private (business) resources and interests intersect. I put in a word about the importance of nonprofits in the Oregon economy and Open Source. I will continue to attend these meetings and keep MMT and Free Geek informed about developments. There will be good press/media coverage coming out of this group, and I will look for ways to include developments at MMT and Free Geek in that coverage.
