== Equipment Test Procedures ==

#Remove power supply from testing kit and set to the side of the work area.
#Set foam pad down on work area.
#Remove the motherboard for the platform to be tested from the protective bag and set the motherboard flat on the foam pad.
#Set the power supply power switch to the off (0) position.
#Connect the power supply’s ATX 20 pin connector to the motherboard.
#Connect the power supply to AC power, but keep power supply turned off.
#Select the processor with the highest marked FSB (166 for AMD, 200 for Intel) from the test kit and install the processor into the ZIF socket.
#Apply the proper amount of thermal compound to the processor. If you’re not sure what the proper amount is, ask someone near you.
#Select an appropriate cooling unit (HSF) from the kit and carefully attach it to the motherboard. If you’re not absolutely 100% positive on how to do this, be sure to double check with someone near you.
#Connect cooling unit (HSF) power to CPU Fan header on motherboard.
#Connect the power supply’s auxiliary 12v 4 pin connector (2 yellow & 2 black wires) to the motherboard if applicable.
#Select an appropriate stick of memory from the testing kit and install it in the motherboard.
#Install the video card from the kit if applicable.
#Make sure the power button (blue & white or orange & white cable) is connected to the motherboard and connect the keyboard and monitor cables to the motherboard.
#Turn the power supply power switch to the on (1) position.
#Press the motherboard power button (blue & white or orange & white cable) and watch for the system POST (listen for a single beep). You may have to try this several times as the POST screens go by very quickly.
#Enter the BIOS and check the settings. Make sure that the CPU bus frequency is set to 100 (if applicable) and that the memory timings are set to auto or SPD.
#Save settings and restart. Make sure the system can still POST.
#Set the power supply power switch to the off (0) position.
