| responsibilities =
* Become part of the Build Program, working your way through card sorting, evaluation, high-end testing, assembly, software installation, quality control, and troubleshooting in order to familiarize yourself with Free Geek procedures, hardware, and software.
* Eventually, be able to instruct build classes in tandem with a Build Coordinator (Assistant) or alone (Instructor), training volunteer builders in computer construction, Linux software installation, quality control, and troubleshooting.
* Work with Build Program Coordinators on the development of the build program, including process development and documentation.
* If necessary, work with Build Program Coordinators to cull and test special hardware.
* Clean and organize the build area as necessary.
* Be available for special projects as necessary.

* Knowledge of Debian Linux and harware troubleshooting (although much of this knowledge may be acquired by participating in the Build Program).
* Aptitude for learning detailed, complex tasks and protocols
