I took a big box of PCI modems from the card sorting room and counted them by manufacturer. Here's what I got:

manufacturers marked in '''bold''' have known working Linux drivers. Of those, only Lucent/Agere and PCTel are currently shipped by FreeGeek. The ESS modems were taken to the store and I took the Smartlink modems for analysis to see if the _slmodem_ driver would work with them.
