==Day-to-Day Responsibilities==

* Receive donations
* Recycle obsolete and non-functioning hardware
* Test devices and evaluate systems
* Store and oversee the management of inventory
* Train volunteers in all of the above and more
* Front desk control, assistance, and counsel
* Evaluate volunteers' performances and report to case workers as required
* Assign volunteers to jobs based on their abilities and disabilities
* Assist with monitoring volunteers' performances and give responses as necessary according to the needs of the volunteers
* Gain and maintain an in-depth understanding of all Free Geek programs
* Be willing to deal with donations received outside of business hours (illegally dumped) as well as large-volume donations
* Possess the computer skills to perform basic office functions as required

The Operations Co-Coordinator must be able to perform these functions and demonstrate them to volunteers and visitors. He or she must also serve as a model and lead by example.

Operations Co-Coordinators are also responsible for overall site facilities maintenance, as well as working as a Free Geek team member.

==Maintenance and Group-Oriented Responsibilities==

* Be alert to security and safety issues, identifying and addressing concerns as needed
* Maintain an awareness of site shortcomings and expedite improvements
* Cooperate with other coordinators to purchase and transport basic supplies to facility
* Work with volunteer supervisors and core volunteers, assisting them with problem solving and routine functions
* Understand the necessity of restricting copyrighted and unregistered proprietary software products from all Free Geek systems
* Support and promote the Open Source Software concept
* Have a conceptual understanding of the Gnu Public License and its importance to Free Geek
* Attend weekly staff meetings, and other meetings as necessary

* Able to operate a forklift
* Able to lift 50 lbs.
* Teaching experience or aptitude
* Work well with a large cross-section of the community
* Able to multi-task
* Work according to a consensus decision-making process related to staff and policy issues
* Patient and courteous with the public
* Able to work in an informal, friendly environment with a diverse staff
* Work well under stress in an unusual setting, maintaining a positive attitude even in the face of adversity
* Not afraid to ask questions, but able to work on projects almost entirely without supervision
* Able to remain flexible as Free Geek grows and changes
