The Place

The System Evaluation area is just after basic intake. Its like a wide hospital hallway, with 2 colors of pant and every thing. one side is where incoming systems go, and the other side is where you evaluate them.

The Task

Systems arrive in Evaluation after they have been donated to Free Geek.

Volunteers in the Build program then determine which systems should be kept and which recycled. This step is documented at System Evaluation 1 Triage and System Evaluation 2 Triage.

Evaluation is also where we pull components out of the systems so the components can be tested and inventoried. This process is often referred to as "Mining".

Instructions for all the steps in System Evaluation can be found on the System Evaluation Instructions page.
