Job Description for Event Planner

Scope

This job description is being created for Mary Doyle who will be coordinating Free Geek's 10th Anniversary event in October 2010.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Staff advisory group (aka Event Planning Committee) to to gain an adequate overview of the needs of Free Geek regarding the 10th Anniversary event.
  • Be responsive to their feedback.
  • Delegate tasks as necessary
  • Help determine how volunteers can be best utilized for the event and assist with coordinating them.
  • Provide regular and ongoing status reports.
  • Help craft budget for the event.
  • Initiate and maintain communications with involved parties. This includes, but is not limited to, potential entertainment acts, venues, contributors, etc.
