Summary of Job Duties
- This was an exploratory intern position.
Responsibilities
- Prepare printers for sale in store and for grants.
- Recycle obsolete and non-functional printers in accordance with recycling guidelines.
- Coordinate volunteers in performing daily tasks
- Communicate with other Free Geek staff and volunteers.
- Help keep printer areas in line with FREE GEEK philosophy and capabilities. Be aware of FREE GEEK programs.
- Document, document, document!
Required Skills
- Good interpersonal relation skills
- Volunteer management background
- Technical research
- High level of patience
- Ability to work unsupervised and self motivated
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work in an informal, friendly environment with a diverse staff
- Ability to lift and carry at least 40 lbs
- Basic knowledge of free and open source software
In Addition
The ideal candidate will be able to work well under stress in a somewhat chaotic setting and maintain a positive attitude. The candidate will not be afraid to ask questions but will be able to upkeep the area almost entirely without supervision. The candidate will be able to remain flexible as Free Geek grows and changes.
