New Incoming Modem Statistics

I took a big box of PCI modems from the card sorting room and counted them by manufacturer. Here's what I got:

37 Conexant
28 US Robotics (mostly AD1807JS)
13 3Com
9 Lucent/Agere
8 PCTel
5 Rockwell
4 Motorola
3 ESS Teledrive
3 Analog Devices AD1806JS
2 NEC
2 Cirrus Logic
2 Smartlink
1 Creative DS1820
1 Netodragon (?)
1 Ambient MD5628D

116 total

manufacturers marked in bold have known working Linux drivers. Of those, only Lucent/Agere and PCTel are currently shipped by FreeGeek. The ESS modems were taken to the store and I took the Smartlink modems for analysis to see if the _slmodem_ driver would work with them.
