notes from charles:
- login with username needs to be better formatted
- update software needs to know that unauthenticated packages FROM FREEGEEK are okay.
- grantboxes could have the modem icon removed from the title bar
- basiccheck mem test needs to tell user about the memory that is stolen by the motherboard
- use lsusb to test usb devices (to be able to use devices other than mice)
- note what to do with paperwork, boxes, &c.
- instructions on boxes without paperwork (for QCing)
- keep mp3 disks out
blaine noticed:
- could the step regarding spec checking go sooner and be more explicit?
- Could some of the early qc steps be added to the build sheet?
blaine's ideas on basiccheck:
- Move screen resolution to first check in basiccheck?
- Make cdrom check hdc and hdd only
- No longer use Pentium I, Pentium II or K6-2 in cpuinfo check in basiccheck
- Clearer explanation of when IRQ conflicts matter.
- Clearer explanation of what to look for with the floppy test.
macmobile suggests:
- Add enter password to the 4reboots section of QC.
- Make the order of install on the Build Checklist match that of the Build Sheet.
