Cards
This instruction sheet will be included in the Card vs Memory Lesson.
Cards are added to computer systems for a variety of reasons, usually related to absence or replacement of a connector in the on-board connections or to give the system an added or enhanced function.
- Replacement Card
If the sound ports on the motherboard have stopped working, a sound card of the appropriate slot type can be installed to provide the sound functions to the system
- Expansion Card
If the computer system is to be used for high quality music reproduction, a sound card that provides the needed characteristics can be added
