As the Environmental Representative on Free Geek's Board of Directors, you will be responsible for ensuring that the organization fulfills it commitment to protecting the environment and operating in an ecologically responsible fashion. In order to facilitate this goal, an Environmental Representative should meet the following criteria:

-Be able to advocate on behalf of Free Geek with regard to legislative issues that affect the organization. This includes actively participating in the legislative process, contacting elected officials, maintain awareness of legislative issues, and raising the profile of environmental causes within state and local government.

-Be able to demonstrate familiarity with environmental issues as they pertain to Free Geek's values and mission. The Environmental Representative must remain aware of contemporary environmental issues, particularly issues that are local or have a significant impact on the way in which Free Geek operates.

-Posses an interest in reuse and recycling as mechanisms for maintaining a healthy environment. Recycling is central to Free Geek's mission, and the Environmental Representative should should be able to demonstrate both a passion for and awareness of the recycling process.

-Remain energetic and organized in a busy, loosely structured organization. free Geek prides itself on being an unconventional organization, but this does mean we do not take our work seriously. As the Board's Environmental Representative, you have the important job of ensuring that Free Geek operates in a way that is harmonious with our environment. This requires hard work, dedication, and a commitment to the organization.
