Responsibilities:
- Work at the front desk part-time
- Coordinate messages: public email, voice mail outgoing message, FAQ, etc. to be sure they're consistent
- Create and maintain timeline for paperwork deadlines
- Organize and maintain a centralized filing system
- Make communications efficient
- Recruit/supervise paid and unpaid Front Desk Interns
- Bookkeeping and staff scheduling support
- Create and coordinate an efficient system for document flow
- Manage copies and documents
- Receive and distribute mail
- Be responsible for administative correspondence
- Perform reception and reception intern coordination backup
- Attend weekly staff meetings, and other meetings as necessary
- Work occasional shifts coordinating Adoption and Build Program volunteers
- Train and take input from staff as necessary in order to do a quality job
- Miscellaneous responsiblilities as needed
Required skills:

- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Able to extract info from current staff and put into rational, transparent system that everyone can understand
- Empowered and self-motivated organizer

- Work well under stress in an unusual setting, maintaining a positive attitude even in the face of adversity
- Ability to work and communicate well in a collectively-run organization
- Not afraid to ask questions, but able to work on projects almost entirely without supervision
- Able to remain flexible as Free Geek grows and changes
Desired skills:
- Payroll and bookkeeping experience
- Previous experience in a collectively-run organization
- Experience coordinating volunteers
Since this position is new to Free Geek, the candidate hired for this position will be required to develop it, taking into account the needs of the organization.
