To post a job on the website:
- Go to http://www.freegeek.org/wp-admin, sign in, go to manage pages, and start editing the Jobs page.
- Open the job description in the wiki in another window
- View the source of the page (In firefox View->Page Source)
- Copy the part of the source that actually deals with the job description (from
<h1 class="firstHeading">Nonprofit Apprenticeship</h1>
to the last part just before<div class="printfooter">
that is not commented out for example.) - Paste it into the jobs page.
- Delete everything between the h1 header and the first table tag.
- Remove extra stuff in headers, i.e.
<a name="Required_Skills"></a><h2> <span class="mw-headline">Required Skills</span></h2>
becomes<h2>Required Skills</h2>
- Save and preview, looking for weirdness. If there is any weirdness, look for extra formatting and remove it, or call for help.
- Remember to create a post that points to the jobs page, giving it a category of "News".
- Make sure you delete the part of the page that says Free Geek is not hiring
- Make sure not to delete the part that says we are equal opportunity
