MacBuild Instructor Duties
Before the shift
- determine work priorities for volunteers (if the coordinator has not already provided tasks)
- Check the schedule to see how many/which volunteers are coming in that day.
During the shift
- Go through incoming systems in Mac Eval first
- Orient, teach and assist volunteers
- Sort through and correctly distribute gizmos from:
- Incoming RAM box
- Small Mac component/accessory incoming box
- Mac power supply box (in TARDIS)
- Make sure the following items are being tested on a regular basis
- wireless Mac mice and keyboards
- laptop batteries
- desktop batteries
- airport base stations
- airport cards
- misc. Macintosh devices
- lcd monitors
After the shift
- Make sure all incoming hard drives have been locked up
- make sure small shiny objects have been locked up
- make sure all of the work stations and areas are clean
- return in-progress laptops to their correct shelf in TARDIS
In general
- Communicate ideas and concerns to the Mac Build Coordinator
- Report any problems you encounter with Mac infrastructure or procedures to the Mac Build Coordinator.
- Have fun and treat all volunteers with respect.
Testing Schedule
Tuesday: laptop and desktop batteries; misc. Macintosh componednts
Thursday: airport cards and base stations
Friday: wireless mice and keyboards; lcd monitors
