Testing TVs

To test TVs:

Note: Always keep remote with TV!

  1. Visually inspect TV for broken parts and phosphor burn
    • Is it broken? Label as BAD and Recycle it!
  2. Hook up TV to power and DVD player
  3. Turn on to channel 3
  4. Leave the TV alone for 20 minutes to warm up
  5. After 20 Minutes watch the TV for a good 5 minutes to test it
    • Can you hear and see the movie?
    • Does the picture look good? Would you want this TV?
    • Does the Remote work?
  6. Note your findings on paper and affix to TV
