Until we can make the labels work, this will allow us to start entering and organizing books in the database.

In [OpenBiblio], assuming you're logged in with permission to update the catalogue, these are the steps.

  1. Click Z39.50 Search (on the left side).
  2. Enter the ISBN of the book. You can either type it in, or use the scanner. The scanner can be a little touchy, but if you get the hang of it, it's more efficient. If you type it in, you have to press Enter or click the search button on the screen.
  3. Assuming it returns results, doublecheck that they represent the correct book. If so, click submit.
  4. Click the "Autogenerate" checkbox and then click submit.
  5. Write the call number on the slip. If the book is more than 5 years old, highlight the number.
  6. Shelve the book. We'll keep the O'Reilly section separate still, but other than that we'll shelve according to call number.
  7. Repeat.
