How to write a Press Release

Format

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Header With First Letter Of Each Word Capitalized. No Exclamation Points or All Caps. Keep It Short And Very Catchy.

Portland, Or. - date (Free Geek) -First paragraph answers the questions who, what, when, where, why.

2nd, 3rd, 4th? paragraphs. Keep press release under 500 words. 2 -3 paragraphs is best. Last paragraph can be used for background info on Free Geek.

Contact name Free Geek email phone number fax number address

### (The pound keys are a standard way of indicating the end of the press release.)
