Talk:Improve Tours
Revphil said something to the effect of:
way back when, I brought in more $$ by giving constant tours. Let's Train receiving people to give tours, and give tours more often to get interested passers by more involved.

I believe that you believe what you said. Now make me believe what you believe. What words did you use to persuade people the way you say you did? Can you/do you have time/will you write a script or outline? Did you use emotion? Are you a gesticulator? Do you think that you may be a nainsook? Shake it Phil, show me how you sell it. Thanks, you testaceous thing you. Let's train myself, because I'm so patient about answering questions. Let's train Bob, because he runs off at the mouth so. Perhaps we should abuse different people for different reasons (It's a joke people! Maybe it's a tshirt we could sell?) Maybe the tour could end back in recieving so all us could answer questions. Jon could think of a few more people for this. Let's pull someone from recycling (?) for the tour hour. Let's have prospective tour guides take the tour and take notes so they can give better tours. Let's have tour guides follow prospective guides around on their initial tours to help them, information wise, and confidence wise. Circle meet jerk? Let's have a debriefing after each tour to I spent too much time in the military, I couldn't pull up the Tour Guide guide last I tried. Is that available now? And thanks for the "store" run. Remind me to buy you a "store type thing" at Organic Brewing.

I got the same reaction, when Phil was no longer available, and I never spoke about money. I was just that people got so impressed when they actually saw things that when they ended up back at the front desk "to get their receipt" they opened their wallets, too.
I guess I was acting, in that I was able to say "Wow! Look at that!" every single time I pointed to the bucket of gold - and the bucket of mouse balls (is that still used?) always got a laugh. It was the attitude of "Gee, isn't this GREAT? Not ONE THING goes into the landfill." that got people, not a recital of facts.
There is a script on the ToDo site, but I'm no longer up on where that is.
