Laptop Program Coordinator

Salary/Benefits
Salary is $30,000 per year. 3.6 weeks paid time off per year (combined vacation and sick time, based on an assumed 37 hours work week). Health care, dental, and vision plan. Employer-matching retirement plan
Work Hours
Four and a half to five days per week, Tuesday through Saturday, 10:30am to 7:30pm, some evening or morning meetings, with some flexibility.

Responsibilities

Organize the laptop area (Black Hole) to maintain and increase workspace and efficiency
Recruit (from within freegeek) and coordinate able students for the laptop program
Accomplish laptop program development including process refinement, documentation, and relevant outreach
Provide laptop repair education
Do laptop repair
Explore other underattended hardware and its possible reuse
Participate in Reuse and Hardware Grants committees
Work on the floor a few hours a week
Research and ensure responsible recycling of laptop parts
Attend staff meetings and other meetings as required

Interest in and aptitude for laptop hardware repair
Familiarity with the freegeek build program -- experience in the build program is a major plus
Patient, friendly volunteer management skills
Ability to teach technical skills in an understandable way
Some familiarity with consensus process
Proactive, clear communication skills
Trustworthy and able to work unsupervised
Frugal or otherwise able to work for our wages
