Intro

How should Free Geek improve its internal rewards efforts in the next 3 years?

State of Program

We have a BBQ that's happening every month with huge success. At Geek Fair we acknowledged many volunteers for all their efforts, including those who had reached 1,000 hours of volunteer service.

Current & Past Issues

Tours need help, they could use some standardization and a training for all tour guides. The front desk area should be have more (pertinent) info available for volunteers and donors. We could be doing more volunteer rewards.

SWOT

Make volunteers feel good & keep them well-informed
Good (for Free Geek) Bad (for Free Geek)
Internal
(to Free Geek)

Strengths: Strengths are advantages we have that are internal to Free Geek and helpful to achieving the objective. (Good things we do.)

  • Tours happening twice a day every day we're open
  • BBQ's happening regularly = make volunteers happy

Weaknesses: Weaknesses are problems we have that are internal to Free Geek and harmful to achieving the objective. (Things we do poorly or not at all.)

  • Tour guides present misleading or inaccurate info.
  • Core breakfasts sporadic & expensive
  • Front Desk area a little crazy and confusing at times
External
(to Free Geek)

Opportunities: Opportunities are advantages we have that are external to Free Geek and helpful to achieving the objective. (Good things that will or could happen to us.)

Threats: Threats are problems we have that are external to Free Geek and harmful to achieving the objective. (Bad things that will or could happen to us.)
