LPT

  1. Connect via LPT to a powered-on printer.
  2. Go to System > Administration > Printing and either find the appropriate driver in the left menu, or create one by clicking "New Printer."
  3. Highlight the printer you're using in the left menu and
  4. Click the "Print Test Page" button.
  5. Delete the printer profile from the menu if it isn't a permanent fixture.

USB

  1. Connect via USB to a powered-on printer.
  2. Ubuntu should find your printer and allow you the option to configure it. Click on that window and print a test page.
  3. If your USB connection isn't found go to System > Administration > Printing and either find the appropriate driver in the left menu, or create one by clicking "New Printer."
  4. Highlight the printer you're using in the left menu and click the "Print Test Page" button.
  5. Delete the printer profile from the menu when you're done if it isn't a permanent fixture.

Ethernet

  1. Connect ethernet cable to network card.
