About Burning Distributions

Any operating system CD we sell needs to be an ISO file so it is recognized by the computer as a bootable disk. If you are download Ubuntu from ubuntu.com it will be an ISO. Remember to select "Burn CD image" (an ISO) when using

  • Instructions:
    • Download and ISO, either by FTP or bittorrent.
    • Go to r2d2, select appropriate file
    • Burn an ISO using an application like K3b

Using the cloner

  • Make sure that you are using new CD-Rs (no CDRW!)
  • Make sure that the disk in the top drive is the master that you want
  • Make sure that all the drives that do not have an "X" on them have new disks
  • Use the front-mounted controls to start burning
  • Check a minute or two later to see if any of the disks were rejected/did burn
  • repeat
