Apple Monitor Testing

Some Apple branded monitors have standard connections, and can be tested exactly as any other LCD monitor. However, some use proprietary connections. Here are ones you may run in to:

Apple Display Connector

Or ADC in it's abbreviated form looks like DVI with rounded edges. It supplies both power and signal, and was used for some G4 and G5 era Macs. For our purposes we can use DVI to ADC adapters.

  • Please do not send the DVI adapter with the monitor once it has been tested. We have a limited number of these adapters.

Thunderbolt Displays

It will probably be a while until we see these, as they were introduced in 2012. Thunderbolt displays will require a Thunderbolt to DVI adapter or a New World Mac with a Thunderbolt port.
