What Do I do? Who do I ask?

Welcome to Recycling! Move on up toward the workbench, and look a bit lost. The person approaching you is either the trainer, or the scheduled Recycling supervisor. They will be able to get you started.

What, no one there?! OK, go up to the bench and check out the boxen in front of the bench. The stuff that is in there is the only stuff that should go in there.

Then look to your right. There is a pile of systems safely(I hope) stacked, that are waiting to be taken apart. Tools are available on the bench, but you might have to look a bit to find specific tools, like torxs. They seem to have legs, or something. Now go on and read the safety instructions. Then come back here.

Safety Introduction

Volunteers are required to wear gloves and safety glasses while working in Recycling. They are available at Recycling's check-in area, where tools are lent out. If you'd like a dust mask, please ask and we will give you one. Please also remember some common sense safety, like:

  • No throwing of materials inside the warehouse or outside in the lot.
  • Try to keep your area free of tripping hazards.
  • The forklift is bigger than you, so PLEASE YIELD to it.

Where do I put it?

Big Boxes in front of me

Little bins on top of the bench

Little boxes below the bench

Below each of the benches are bins for Speakers, Fans, Curcuit Boards (this includes motherboards and processors).
