Bio-diesel Van

Proposal

Purchase used diesel van (3/4 ton) for use in pickups and deliveries. Convert van to bio-diesel or SVO. Seek partnerships with City of Portland OSD and/or Metro for assistance with costs.

Goals

A pick-up and delivery vehicle will allow Free Geek to increase donations of high value computer equipment. Pickups would be offered as a service for fees. Free Geek is also looking into expansion of operations into the Gresham area and a vehicle would be used to trans port personnel and material between locations. A vehicle would also allow for easier cooperation with local neigborhood clean-up efforts and allow for small scale collections events to take palce at community events or businesses.

• used 3/4 ton van = $6,000
• bio-diesel conversion = $500
• painting and sponsor logos = $2,500

Total Fixed: $9,000

On going costs

• insurance = $1,000/yr
• fuel = $1,500/yr (approx. 50 gal/per month)
• maintainance = $500/year
