Salary/Benefits
  • Wages are $11.55 per hour.
  • Length of job: 28 weeks
Work Hours
  • Part-time, 24 hours per week.
  • Four days per week or five shorter days, Tuesday through Saturday, 10:30am to 7:30pm, some evening or morning meetings, with some flexibility

Responsibilities

  • Answering phone & relaying messages to appropriate places
  • Greeting visitors
  • Learning about Free Geek's programs to accurately field questions
  • Accepting & processing donations
  • Using a cash register
  • Data entry
  • Processing till at the end of the day
  • Making reminder calls to volunteers

Required Skills

  • Aptitude for and enjoyment of helping people
  • Must speak English
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated, and able to eventually work with little supervision
  • Detail-oriented
  • Must be reliable & on-time
  • Money-handling experience a plus
  • Fluency in other language(s) a plus

In Addition

The ideal candidate will be able to work well under stress in a somewhat chaotic setting and maintain a positive attitude. The candidate will not be afraid to ask questions but will be able to upkeep the area almost entirely without supervision. The candidate will be able to remain flexible as Free Geek grows and changes.
