Here's an alternative to dedicating the Sitenotice to the "you need an account to edit" message:

  1. Change MediaWiki:Userlogin to read "Request an account or log in"
  2. Move the message that's currently here at Sitenotice to MediaWiki:loginprompt.

thank you for the recommendations, they make sense to me. I didn't really like the sitenotice i created. Now i will have to deal with the wrath from those who were accustomed to adding people per the links in the old sitenotice. :) Matteo 21:07, 16 November 2007 (PST)
