Mouse Testing

Howto

1. is the mouse very dirty, if so recycle it.
2. Plug a PS/2 or USB mouse into the mousetester

   if open office writer is not open open it.

3. does the pointer on the screen move around when you move the mouse, if no recycle.
4. do the buttons work? if no recycle.
5. if there is a scroll does it work? if no recycle.

Mouse Tester Configuration (advanced)

• The mouse tester needs the mousedev, usbmouse, psmouse modules loaded.
• I'm not sure if it properly detects all scroll mice (or even most), so keep scroll mice and test them separately if they don't work.

Where they go

• Serial get recycled
• PS/2
  • Pack 2 button into a box, lable with quantity and type, put in bulk area
  • Pack 3 button into a box, lable with quantity and type, put in bulk area
  • Pack scroll button into a box and send them to build
• USB go to the store
• touchpad, trackball or optical go to the store
