This is how you keep Printer Island working slick:

Usually, the staff member or whoever is supervising Printer Island needs to do the following things in addition to Printer Evaluation

These things constantly need doing:

  1. Take the two plastic bins to the e-plastic gaylord and check them for metal, rubber and cork as you empty it. If you find something, ask the volunteers kindly to remove it.
  2. Make sure that printer disassembly is going well, and that volunteers aren't taking the printers too far apart.
  3. Sign tools in and out to volunteers. Supply them with gloves and goggles if they aren't included in the tool kits.
  4. Check over the cart of keeper machines. If they are taken to the store or grant shelves, be sure to record the number and type of keepers on the sheet on the whiteboard.

Beginning of shift tasks:

  1. Run through Evaluation on some of the incoming pile, or get a trusty volunteer to help if there's a lot:
    1. Meta Evaluation
  2. Find out if the store or the grant shelves need printers, if so, focus volunteers on testing.
  3. If the power supply incoming is full, chop and recycle some cables and walwarts.

End of shift tasks:

  1. Take the scanners and scanner sections to the scanner gaylord in the front of the building.
  2. Check over all the other bins, and take them to their Recycling destinations if need be.
  3. Tidy up the work surfaces.
  4. 10 minutes before the end of the shift, sweep odds & ends off the recycling table and into the plastic bin below. Sweep odds & ends off the floor and deposit likewise.
