Job description created September, 2004


24 hours/week

Salary: $1145 month plus health benefits, incuding dental and vision and paid vacation

Schedule is somewhat flexible


Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily bookkeeping, monthly accounting, payroll, and invoicing
  • Be responsible for administative correspondence
  • Receive and respond to incoming mail
  • Perform filing and bookkeeping
  • Manage copies and documents
  • Help with recruitment of office interns
  • Coordinate volunteer office interns
  • Perform reception and reception intern coordination backup
  • Attend weekly staff meetings, and other meetings as necessary
  • Work occasional shifts coordinating Adoption and Build Program volunteers
  • Execute scheduling of staff
  • Train and take input from staff as necessary in order to do a quality job
  • Miscellaneous responsiblilities as needed

Desired skills:

  • Payroll and bookkeeping experience
  • Previous experience in a collectively-run organization
  • Experience coordinating volunteers


Since this position is new to Free Geek, the candidate hired for this position will be required to develop it, taking into account the needs of the organization.
