The following is the draft offered on 30 Dec 2011 for the Management-Track Opportunity pilot program.

DRAFT DESCRIPTION OF ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Work to improve thrift store sales and operations and identify areas of the thrift store that can be improved. This should include one project that can be measure quantitatively in terms of increased sales. Improvements should consider the physical layout of the store, customer relations, items stocked and personnel processes.

Ensure the store is well-stocked, clean and organized. Identify where this can be improved and implement this. Put together merchandise displays and assist and direct other employees to do so. In addition to ensure that the merchandise is stocked correctly and replaced when in need. Coordinate other staff to implement improvements and report back to the organization.

Scheduling: When the manager is not available or when he delegates it to the assistant manager, it is the assistant manager's responsibility to see that the store has sufficient staff during all hours that it is open.

Ensure that the store, and store personnel are providing the best customer service possible. Handle problems and complaints. Take the responsibility to interpret store policies and decide if exceptions can be made. In conjunction with the Sales Coordinator develop and improve policies as necessary. Motivate and coordinate other staff, ensuring communication with other aspects of the organization. Train staff members as needed and develop the training program.

Oversee day to day operations in the store and resolve issue as they arise. Work with the sales coordinator to improve operations and sales.

Keep and inventory of products and maintain daily records of transactions. Be responsible for maintaining pricing in the store and work to maximize sales.
