Each standing committee is supposed to submit a projection regarding their staffing needs in the future.

This is a place to draft the Sales staffing needs.

Thrift Store

Biggest needs here are some redundancy in our staffing to better cover breaks and vacations and to eliminate burnout. I think this would best be done by crosstraining a couple existing staff in order to perform basic, life-support work in the store, such as working the floor, shopping for and preparing goods, but not handling cash or running the till (this is hardest to maintain over time, since it requires perfect knowledge of policy/pricing, as well as some "chops" to not make a mistake.

Ideally, there would be some inclusion of NPAs into the store, even if this was part of just one person's training (say one NPA learns the store instead of FD). The problem with relying on permanent staff to cover vacations/illnesses is that they are all stretched so thin already, it just moves the problem elsewhere. Right now our subs (ex-NPAs) are only with us for a couple mos. so training them may not be worth effort.

Sales staff admin time

Right now people don't get enough to keep up with basic, critical stuff, like reading email and seeing through with commits (not possible to multi-task between floor/admin due to volume).Tonyc

Bulk Sales

Nobody scheduled to do this. Could grow this program, or run it skeletally. Skeletal: just Matthew Godson/Gentech? maybe 4 hrs/month additional for $1K Grow the program: create system to court new bulk purchasers and vet their operations/etc: up to 2-4 hrs/week with increased income over time as program comes together.Tonyc

Online sales

Reports/documentation 1hour/week? Additional hours of posting/shipping/testing? Would like input from Santi and Ebeth on this. Believe hours would be /at least/ budget neutral up to X hours/week, if we have them available.Tonyc

Rentals

Movie/props: no more than 1-2 h/month, unless we decide to grow this. Think this would be trivial to make a bit more formal. Not worth going into here.Tonyc

Coverage for 2-3 months of no Tony (potential)

24-40 hours a week, coming from ??? My suggested path here is to hire a temporary staff person for 3 mo. stint (30 hrs/week), or bring over NPA for final 3 mos of term. 2 wks training and 2-3 months on the floor. Current sales staff would share administrative tasks for this time with some additional admin time (covered by temp staff position and/or from other areas).Tonyc
