Build Walk-ins

In order to work a Build shift, volunteers may sign up for no more than two shifts at a time at the front desk, either by phone or in person. If openings are available when a Builder arrives, they similarly must sign for those shifts at the front desk. If 30 minutes have passed since the beginning of a shift and there are still openings, volunteers may walk-in per Instructor approval.

Reasons for denial of a walk-in may include:

  1. Insufficient Instructor/Staff coverage,
  2. Insufficient materials or components,
  3. Insufficient space for produced systems.

Partial shifts may be scheduled with the expectation that the scheduled timeframe is honored. Other volunteers may have committed to the remaining time in a shift and will be expected to begin their parts of the shift in a timely manner.
