We now have a range of regular store boxen from 900 mhz to 1.4 ghz. They all have 256 MB of ram and 13-20 gig hard drives. Recently, this changes (mainly up) frequently.

General Rules for Pricing of x86 Systems

  • 900 mhz range $50

1-1.3 ghz $80-$100, depending on how "nice" (see below) 1.4-3.0 ghz, start at $10 per 100 mhz and go down for:

    • No burner (rare now)
    • Smallish hard drive (in comparison to CPU power)
    • Ugly/large/dirty case
    • Less RAM than typical for that power range
  • Things that raise the value or hold it up in the face of other bad things:
    • Small form factor, nice case
    • Extra front panel media interconnects
    • DVD-RW
    • 128 mb or greater video card
    • Other cool bling
