Messiness and Beautification

I think the conversation on messiness and the conversation on beautification should be split. Of course things are nicer when it's not all cluttered up, but it seems to me that beautification is about paiting the walls, hanging nice stuff to look at on the walls, getting plants put in in various places. We could do all that and still have lotsa junk sitting around. Likewise, we could uglify the place up a lot and keep it neat and tidy.

Messiness is about functionality and safety. Beautification is about making this place feel nice aesthetically.
