Talk:Volunteer Program Development

As a new (probably not typical) volunteer, I offer the following comments.

I would be most enthusiatic about a graduated scale of "prizes". Specifically I would suggest that volunteers be given access to increasing quality/quantity of boxen and/or benefits for thier efforts. In light of the real potential for a large number of "grant" quality boxen in the future, maybe consider a reward program of 1 freekboxen for every 6 built, 1 grantboxen or 2 freekboxen for every 15 built, etc... If you need to encourage builders into the laptop/server/printer programs, make them follow-ons to the regular build program with access to laptops/printers/servers as prizes (i.e. complete the regular build program to a grant-boxen level and you can switch to laptops/servers, where after 10 of those you can get one...) In cases where the builders dont want the boxen, allow them to substitue for similar value travel stipends/health benefits. --dz@la 10:35, 4 Aug 2006 (PDT)
