I am confused - do you need to install both Blackdown and Sun Java? If it's a choice, what should I base my choice on?
By the way, there is a useful web page you tech support folks might not know of. It covers a number of the issues you document here, and other similar ones. (It's geared toward Ubuntu 5.0.4, but I think most of the advice would work for any recent Debian-based distro.)
