Laptop As-Is Guide
Remove the hard drive. Make sure all caddy pieces stay inside the machine.
Find an appropriate AC Adapter.
Power the system on; troubleshoot any POST issues as needed.
Boot to BIOS or the Hardware Detection Kit.
Determine the processor type and speed, and the amount of RAM installed.
Reduce installed RAM to 512MB or less as needed.
Affix As-Is Sticker and fill out processor information, but not AC adapter information.
Have your instructor sign off on the sticker and show you where to put the laptop.
