Overview

Site of grant http://www.unitedway-pdx.org/RFP/index.html

NOTE: (According to the supplied literature) In order to apply for this grant, you need to attend a pre-proposal conference. These are all past (all in 11/08). We may not be able to even apply for this grant. Luiz 03:18, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

See this document for more details: http://www.unitedway-pdx.org/RFP/files/01-RFPMain-UWCW09CI.doc Luiz 03:20, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

Apparently, Todd was at this meeting, so its no longer an issue.Luiz 22:00, 27 December 2008 (UTC)

  • Stated Purpose
    • "The vision of United Way of the Columbia-Willamette is to help shape a social support system of community organizations that collaborate on common outcomes and systemic changes to ensure that all residents are reaching their full potential."
  • Size and Duration
    • "Grants are issued for three years and are recertified annually depending on performance and compliance with the requirements of the funding agreement. The grant range for all proposals is from $100,000 to $200,000 annually."
  • Eligibility
    • We are eligible (a nonprofit)
  • Limitations
    • We can only do one project where we are on the point "vision council" for that project. We can collaborate in a non-administrative way with any other project if we choose to do so.
  • Collaboration
    • You must have a formal (that is, documented) collaboration with other organizations. One particular organization is tacit leader and this seems to be the one responsible for distributing funds to the other orgs (united way will only send money to one organization per project). See below.
  • Fiscal Management Organization (FMO)
    • "For granting purposes, one organization must apply for funding as the “Fiscal Management Organization” on behalf of the project collaboration. This organization will hold the contract with United Way and take the responsibility for receiving the funding on behalf of the collaboration, distributing funds as agreed to by the collaboration in its MOA and budget and maintaining records suitable for auditing. The Fiscal Management Organization will also be responsible for submitting to United Way the required reports and documents on behalf of the collaboration."
  • Money Oriented Legalese
    • The actual contract (for the FMO) is this document: "07-Assurances-UWCW09CI.doc." ... I will add a link when I find it Luiz 22:04, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
