Voter FAQ (for tenants and apartment managers)

am I eligible to vote?
If you are a citizen of the USA and will be 18 by election day, then yes.
What does registering to vote get me?
The ability to vote (must register at least 21 days before election.) The ability to sign petitions (ballot measures, candidates, etc.)
When do I need to register?
As soon as you move. Under Oregon law, you are no longer registered once you move, unless you fill in a new card. (You can also use the card to change your name or party affiliation.)
Can I vote in a primary?
If you register with a party, you may vote in the primary elections for that party. (Some parties may allow you to vote even if you're not affiliated with them; neither of the major parties does.)
Who's collecting my personal info besides the state?
Voters on the Move is a non-profit, nonpartisan organization. Our aim is to help as many people- primarily young people- register to vote as possible. We need to demonstrate that we've helped you register to vote. (We need to be able to evaluate the success of our program.) We need your name and address to do so, but will not add you to any mailing list, sell your info, or do anything like that.
