ideas for wiki

list of businesses who have helped us and how, include links to them places to gather this info: Holiday Party wiki lists pizza places, breweries that have donated New Deal Vodka O'Reilly Tripwire Anthro Easystreet tofu place? Where's all that bread and hummus come from? How are people approaching businesses, look at some correspondence.

Once we have this info, should we send out holiday cards or something? "Thanks for being a friend of Free Geek, here are some of the things we've accomplished in the last year." Similar to Oso's 2005 January thank you letter but for different audience.

thank you letter

find a catchy name for "businesses and nonprofits that have done nice stuff for us"

Dear Penguin Pal,

Thank you for showing your support for Free Geek in 2004. Contributions from organizations like yours - whether in the form of furniture, public relations help, pizza and beer, or just a timely pat on the back - are something that keep smiles on our faces as we rip old computers to shreds, keeping them out of landfills and putting their better parts to new use.

The diversity of companies, nonprofits, and individuals who show support for Free Geek tells us that we are performing a function that is truly valued. That makes it easy to recruit new volunteers, and for those of us who've been around for a while, it keeps the spring in our step.

Your support is deeply appreciated. Thank you, and all the best for 2006!

the 5 best articles

seek permission to post our own copies of some of these!! The Oregonian will not let you look at an article over 14 days old without paying. The Tribune has redesigned its archive tools, which broke old links. If the publication allows it, we should retain our own copy of the good articles. And if they don't, we should STILL retain it privately, so we can at least quote it.
