Salary/Benefits
  • Salary is $30,000 per year.
  • 3.6 weeks paid time off per year (combined vacation and sick time, based on an assumed 37 hours work week).

Work Hours
  • Four and a half to five days per week, Tuesday through Saturday, 10:30am to 7:30pm, some evening or morning meetings, with some flexibility.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend weekly staff meetings, and other meetings as necessary
  • Teach and recruit volunteer instructors for workshops (i.e. build, alt build, advanced testing, printers)
  • Refine build and quality control procedures
  • Teach and recruit volunteers for advanced testing, printers, alt. build, etc.
  • Create and update documentation that will be used to teach volunteers hardware testing procedures
  • Create new testing procedures to explore new hardware avenues
  • Locate and prepare items for the thrift store
  • Coordinate with other members of the production team
  • Work floor shifts coordinating volunteers
  • Participate in collective management structure
  • Take on tasks and committees unrelated to production coordination.

Required skills:

  • Experience managing volunteers
  • Knowledge of PC and Macintosh hardware
  • Knowledge of Ubuntu and Debian Linux
  • Well versed in troubleshooting techniques
  • Self-motivation
  • Multi-tasker
  • Friendly, outgoing personality
  • Patient and courteous with the public
