Computer Collection Events
- This is an outreach activity and it should be a positive experience for the public.
- Accordingly, you need the proper infrastructure.
- If it is a big event that is well promoted:
- You need to partner with a recycler so that Free Geek only takes the reusable equipment:
- Monitors after 2000
- All systems
- Some printers
- Gizmos
- To handle this load with the box truck:
- Bring pallets and tarps so that you have a place to keep equipment out of rain while loading truck
- Use 4 gaylords with covers, which hold 18 monitors each - 3 along the side and one on the other side for gizmos
- Stack systems on top of the covered gaylords
- You need volunteers for:
- Unloading the vechicles
- Assisting the customer at the table -- money, literature, sign up email
- Load truck
- If it is a smaller event, probably don't need to partner with a recycler
- Same setup applies
