Please be safe at Free Geek. We ask/require that volunteers wear Personal Protective Equipment while working at Free Geek. Different areas have different requirements.

In areas like Receiving, Prebuild, Eval

Instructor:

  • show volunteer gloves and safety glasses, volunteers are encouraged to wear them!
  • point out First Aid Kits, ask that volunteers inform you of ALL injuries,
  • check out tool kit, and ask volunteer to inform you of any issues with tools (worn, broken)
  • ask volunteers if they will need any help lifting or moving gizmos, make sure they know who to ask for help
  • unsafe work practices (hammering, breaking) will not be tolerated, let volunteers know to ask for help opening systems, or removing parts

In areas like Recycling, Printers
