Job Title: Office Support Volunteer Intern
Hours Weekly: 2 to 24 hours/week
Days Per Week: 1 to 5 days/week
Length of Internship: Minimum 3 months
Training: Orientation and Training Provided
Free Geek Supervisor: Mary Kate, Office Coordinator

Responsibilities

Tasks will include some or all of the following:

  • Assist the front desk as necessary
  • Train to answer questions about Free Geek pleasantly and knowledgeably
  • Retrieve voice mail messages, answer and return calls, deliver messages effectively
  • Make class reminder calls to attendees before day of class
  • Manage all front desk documents and maintain surplus copies
  • Sign up individual and group volunteers
  • Maintain complete tour guide schedule
  • Check office supplies weekly and place item requests
  • Alphabetize build sheets monthly

The ideal candidate will be able to work well under stress and maintain a positive attitude in a relatively chaotic setting. The candidate will not be afraid to ask questions, but will be able to work on projects with minimal supervision. The candidate will be able to remain flexible as Free Geek grows and changes.
