How To Test Wireless Cards

  1. Grab a wireless card.
  2. Seat the card into an open PCI slot on the card test motherboard.
  3. Boot the board up into ubuntu.
  4. Look at the network connections at the top right of the screen.
  5. If it shows the network "freegeek then try to get online, if you are able to get online, Skip to step 7.
  6. Click System, Administration, Hardware Drivers. If it shows a driver for that card, install it.
  7. If it shows the network "freegeek" then go to firefox and try to get onto our website. To be sure you are connected wirelessly, unplug the ethernet cable.
  8. If the card works, mark it ok and send it to the store. If not recycle it.
