Freekboxen are to be built to the appropiate specifications before they are dispersed to volunteers. Any upgrades introduced to a Freekbox must be installed after they have officially been dispersed through the Build program. Volunteers are welcome to use the Build workbench to work on their Freekboxen under the following circumstances:
- The volunteer has previously arranged a time with a staff member to work on their box.
- An opening on the workbench is available 30 minutes after a Build shift has begun.
- The volunteer is dispersed their take-home box while on a regularly scheduled shift with sufficient time remaining.
In order to upgrade a Freekbox on the workbench, a volunteer must have either a receipt from the Store or an Equipment Pass signed by a Front Desk volunteer or staff person with them at all times.
