Intro

This page should address how Free Geek's Facility might change over the next 3-5 years so that we can better fulfill our mission and live up to our principles.

In the council meeting We decided on a Zoning structure for Free Geek

The flow at Free Geek Jumps around alot. One idea to change this is the Lean Free Geek idea.

Trends and predictions

Three ways to be:

• Rent the space up stairs north.
  • this would add 5000 SqFt to grow into.
  • we would have more space to flex into
  • We are here every day so expanding in the space can happen over a long period of time.
• Stay the size we are.
  • It works, and we under utilize the space the space we currently rent.
• Purchase a building
  • we would have a better justification for some kinds of grants.
  • We would be better able to design the site plan for our needs

Plan:

Free Geek will continue to rent the 15000 sqft that it currently rents. In the next 3 to 5 years we will have raised money through fund drives and securing grants so that we can purchase our own building. In the mean time Free Geek modularize our process in preparation for a move, and also for preparation in changes in technology.

We have a lot of experience in to design our area for work flow We have a positive cash flow at this time.	Weaknesses: Weaknesses are problems we have that are internal to Free Geek and harmful to achieving the objective. (Things we do poorly or not at all.) Informing the public of a move takes a lot of energy and we can sometimes run out of steam.
External (to Free Geek)	Opportunities: Opportunities are advantages we have that are external to Free Geek and helpful to achieving the objective. (Good things that will or could happen to us.) the sweetest location could come up just as we get enough money in the pot someone might be looking to buy a building for a origination like us	Threats: Threats are problems we have that are external to Free Geek and harmful to achieving the objective. (Bad things that will or could happen to us.) the real estate market fluctuates prices could be peaking as we are ready to buy the market could plummet after we buy If our income drops, we would still have a large fixed cost of buying the building

We would be landlords and we are not very good at that. We would have to make the location handicap accessible (spending money on a building that is not ours) We tend to fill areas up with junk.
External (to Free Geek)	Opportunities: Opportunities are advantages we have that are external to Free Geek and helpful to achieving the objective. (Good things that will or could happen to us.) Landlord decides to give us the building because we are such awesome tenants. We may continue to expand. second	Threats: Threats are problems we have that are external to Free Geek and harmful to achieving the objective. (Bad things that will or could happen to us.) Landlord decides to sell the building and we dont have the money to purchase We may lose income with increased competition.
