2008 Kids Area Activities

Mouse ball fishing w/ hard drive magnets (2007 repeat)

Materials:

• Kiddie pool
• Bucket of mouse balls
• Sticks
• String
• Simple hard drive magnets
• Kitchen timer

Kids will create their own fishing poles using sticks, string, and hard drive magnets. The mouse balls will be dumped into the kiddie pool. Kids will then try to fish out as many mouse balls as possible in X period of time.

Keyboard door hangers (2007 repeat)

Materials:

• Keyboard keys
• Cardboard or flat circuit boards
• Glue gun
• Glitter glue
• Foam pieces
• String

Keyboard keys will be glued onto cardboard/flat circuit boards and decorated with foam pieces and glitter glue. They can hang on doors with string.

Read-alouds

Materials:

• Books

There will be a storytime, either in the schedule or when enough attention is drawn, highlighting recycling and/or computers.

(Potential) rock decorating

• Deborah will probably bring rock decorating things

Face Painting

Laurel 1.0 will decorate our cheeks.

Miscellaneous

• Sidewalk chalk
• Maybe a little fort or something if I can find it
